French Block Historic Renovation
Montpelier, VT
Uninhabited for 75 years, the French Block is currently being restored to its former glory while providing much needed prime downtown housing. Downstreet Housing and Housing Vermont have partnered with the building’s owners to redevelop the 2nd and 3rd floor into 18 apartment units, with a mix of affordable and market rate rents. The project is registered with the National Green Building Standard and the building itself is a contributing structure in the Montpelier Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
