120 State Street Rear Entry Addition and Stair Tower Reconstruction
State of Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles Montpelier, VT
In the years since the State Office building was designed, society has changed its thinking about accessibility and inclusivity. The new accessible lobby is designed to be as enduring and polished in its construction as the original WPA modern building, employing a pallet of materials including local Barre granite and glazed terracotta panels. In contrast to the existing, the addition is transparent and welcoming to all.
